Open Letter to Our Community

We want to thank everyone who has supported the National Ebony Pages Mobile App and recognize all of the effort that went into creating the platform for black owned businesses to be seen and for black voices to be heard. To date the app has surpassed 1000 downloads and features certified black businesses working in the best interest of black people in the Nashville Metropolitan & Greater Memphis areas.

Although our mission to fix the broken cycle of money flowing out of the black community has not changed, we find it necessary to evolve our approach and change the app’s name to Black Mane Street. We’ve reached the next stage of our journey and believe the new name is meaningful -- as it honors the community of Black Wall Street. (An affluent African American community in Tulsa Oklahoma that was home to many Black owned enterprises. The area was destroyed and hundreds of residents died during the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.) Today we reimagine its economic spirit to accomplish our mission to circulate dollars in Black neighborhoods and to fulfill our vision of Community. Commitment. Commerce.

Introducing The Black Mane Street Commitment Fund - We automatically invest a percentage of Business listing fees into the fund. Nonprofits & community leaders submit causes to receive support from the fund. App users vote to fund causes that will be the most impactful & make a difference in the community.

Call to Action: The first brick to build Black Mane Street is being laid now. We need your help to grow and strengthen our service offerings to black businesses and diversify our support for black communities. We want to create career opportunities in our neighborhoods, become an employer of choice, and facilitate investments into black causes. Encourage businesses to get listed on the app, Nonprofits to get funded, and your friends to download, vote, get inspired and get involved! #ShopBlackInvestBack

We thank you for your continued support.
